     Harriet Eleanor Fuge Whitesel, 80, of Mifflintown, entered into rest on Sunday morning, October 6, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

     Born July 28, 1939, in Meadville, she was a daughter of the late John Leslie and Julia Eva (Daniels) Fuge, Sr.

      She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Martin Whitesel, whom she married March 21, 1959; four children, David E. Whitesel of Dallastown, Joel M. Whitesel and wife, Katherine M., of Columbus, OH, Jonelle D. Page and husband, James A., of Thompsontown, and Holly W. Sayre and husband, Lawrence G., of Camp Hill; five siblings, John L. Fuge, Jr. and wife, Edna, of Indiana, Pa., Richard H. Fuge and wife, Marilyn, of Mercer, Nancy F. Voorhees of Shinglehouse, Rodney C. Fuge and wife, Eleanor, of Brookville, and Robin A. F. Timblin and husband, Ralph, of Clarion; nine grandchildren, Zachariah M. Whitesel, Derek A. Whitesel, Grant M. Whitesel, Amy J. Whitesel, James R. Page, Maria L. Whitesel, Christiana M. Whitesel, Jessica R. Page, and Jill K. Whitesel; and one great-grandson, Finley W. Whitesel.

     Harriet was a housewife and dairy farmer as well as secretary at P.H.E.A.A. and a pharmacist technician at Mifflintown Pharmacy.

     She was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church where she also taught Sunday school. She was a baker of tasty treats, had a personal card ministry, and enjoyed knitting hats via loom.

     Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Licking Creek Valley, with Pastor Chris Mathiason officiating. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Interment in Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown, will be at the convenience of the family.

     In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 8489 Licking Creek Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059 or to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
