     Thomas John Griffith, 78, died Sunday, May 21, 2017.

     He was born January 16, 1939, in Wilkes Barre.

     He is survived by his wife, Carole A. (Dureka) Griffith, one daughter, Tracey Griffith, one stepdaughter, Dawn Pogosaew and husband, Anthony Ianneillo, one stepson, Bruce Pogosaew and wife, Michelle, one brother, Carl Thompson and wife, Kathy, one grandson, Aneillo "Neil" Ianniello, and one granddaughter, Sylvia Pogosaew.

     He was preceded in death by his father, Kermit Griffith, his mother, Frances (Lynn) Griffith, his step-father, Carl Thompson, and two brothers, Kermit Griffith and Richard Griffith.

     He served in the United States Air Force from Feb. 17, 1959 to Feb. 15, 1963.

     He worked as a Police Officer, retiring after 31 years of service, in North Plainfield, NJ.

     As a member of the North Plainfield Green Acres Commission, he founded the annual fishing derby for youngsters and was instrumental in assisting and instructing them in the art of fresh water fishing for many years.

     He enjoyed hunting and was a fly fisherman who tied his own flies which were featured in fishing publications.

     His memorial service and interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
