     Dorothy Mae House, 81, of McAlisterville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

     Born March 7, 1935 in Harrisburg, she was the only child of Elbert and Ethel (Swartz) Dobbins.

     She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard "Pete" House, whom she married Aug. 27, 1954, three children, Chuck Dobbins and wife, Naketa " Nikki", of State College, Wendy Hackenberger, and husband, Steve, of McAlisterville, and Nancy House of McAlisterville; and two grandsons, Adam Hackenberger, and Wesley Hackenberger and wife, Abby.

     She was preceded in death by one son, Richie House.

     Dorothy Mae retired from Lyon Fashions.

     She was a very active member of Lost Creek Presbyterian Church where she had been the organist, sang in the choir, and participated in the women's association and in other church functions. She and her husband were avid golfers for many years and occasionally traveled to play on other courses. Her passion was being a homemaker and spending time with and taking care of her family.

     A  memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7,  at Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, 517 Main Street, McAlisterville, with Rev. Graham Fowler officiating. Interment will be in Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville, at the convenience of the family.

     Although there will be no public viewing, the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lost Creek Presbyterian Church, PO Box 91, McAlisterville, PA 17049.
