Winona "Winnie" Lee (Beers) Zeiders

     Winona L. “Winnie” Zeiders, 83, of Mifflintown, died Sunday, April 30, 2023, at her home in Denholm.

     Born Oct. 20, 1939, in Mifflin, she was a daughter of the late George H. and Dorothy C. (Graham) Beers. Her husband of 62 years, Forest Neil Zeiders, Sr., whom she married Oct. 27, 1955, died Jan. 31, 2018.

     She is survived by three children, Kimberly Welshonse of Mifflintown and her companion, Tony Guide of McAlisterville, Forest N. Zeiders, Jr. and wife, Eleanora, of Lewistown, and Jeffrey W. Zeiders of Mifflintown, four grandchildren, Steven Welshonse and wife, LuWanda, Christina Callahan and husband, Lawrence, Jennifer Whitesel and husband, Gary, and Doug Zeiders and wife, Morgan, four great-grandchildren, Kaylin Welshonse, Ethan Whitesel, Benjamin Zeiders, Gabe Welshonse, and one on the way very soon, three siblings, Elenore Gingrich, Dora Solt, and Barry Beers, and her many loving pets.

     In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Frederick Beers and one son-in-law, Scott Welshonse.

     Winnie was a homemaker and a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.

     She enjoyed quilting, reading, trout fishing, crocheting, cross stitch, and plastic canvas needlepoint.

     Her graveside service and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley, with Pastor Mindy Petrovcic officiating. Please bring a chair if you wish to be seated for the service.

     There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown.
