Millie S. Depew, 88, formerly of Mifflintown, passed away and her faith became sight on Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022 at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata.
Born June 2, 1934, in Granville Township, MIfflin County, she was a daughter of the late Walter A. and Helen (Anderson) Snyder. Her husband of 49 years, Glenn L. Depew, whom she married June 6, 1954, passed away June 28, 2003.
She is survived by three children, Patricia “Patty” Willit and husband, Jeff, of Rochester, NY, Donna Pontius and husband, Jeff, of Port Royal, and Jim Depew and wife, Kathleen, of Denver, PA, eight grandchildren, Brandon Willit, Mark Willit, Laura Medina, Beth Hanley, Melissa Gigliotti, Dr. Claire Shaffer, Andrew Depew, and Dr. Elizabeth Depew, seven great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Millie graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1952.
She was a teller at Russell National Bank, Mifflin, retiring in June of 1996.
As a very active member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, she served as pianist, Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, and Church Board member, as well as in various other positions.
She also was a member of the PA Farmer’s Association Auxiliary. She was involved with Youth For Christ and with Lost Creek Health Services. She volunteered with Juniata Meals on Wheels and with Career Link helping teach English as a second language.
She enjoyed playing piano, putting puzzles together, crocheting, reading, and doing her daily devotions.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, with Pastor Parrish Munro, officiating. Interment will be in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the church.
