David H. DeLancey, 96, of McAlisterville, passed into God’s loving arms on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
David is survived by his wife of 73 years, Marie Hepner DeLancey, daughter, Marlene Swartz and husband, Kevin, daughter Kathy Rice and husband, Harry Jr. He is also survived by a sister, Stella Hepner of Mifflintown, ten grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Anna (Longacre) DeLancey, four brothers, four sisters, and an infant daughter, Darlene.
David proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1948.
He was a longtime member of St. John’s United Methodist Church.
He worked several jobs in his lifetime including Redwood Kitchens and Juniata Lumber.
He kept busy after retiring with his hobby of wood carving. Many people have been on the receiving end of his wonderful carvings.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
A private service will be held at a later date.
