William T. “Bill” O’Brien, also known as “Trouble”, 80, of Port Royal, passed into the arms of God Saturday evening, May 21, 2022, at his home.
Born April 13, 1942 in Cranston, Rhode Island, he was raised by his loving grandparents, Thaddeus and Bridget O’Brien. Preceding him in death were his grandparents and a granddaughter, Morgan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay (Shoemaker) O’Brien, two step-sons, Scott E. Bretz and wife, Linda, of Wheaton, Ill. and John L. Bretz and wife, Melissa, of Port Royal, and four grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Bill was a member of the Port Royal Evangelical Lutheran Church, Port Royal.
He loved all children, liked to make people laugh, and enjoyed working with his hands. He made hand carved leather items and many kinds of wood projects. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Sara, Jacob, Jenna and Kirsten.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
