Victor L. “Vic” Miller, 88, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, Enola, as a result of a long and courageous battle with Inclusion Body Myositis.
He was born Feb. 16, 1935 in Walker Township, Juniata Co.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Sara Jane (Burd) Miller whom he married April 29, 1959, three children, Karl D. Miller and wife, Nancy, Blaine I. Miller and wife, Lan, and Ann L. Smith, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Marge Hackett and Ruth Gibson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, C. Myrtle (Portzline) Miller, his father, Robert R. Miller, his step-mother, Dora S. Miller, three brothers, Chester Miller, Ray F. Miller, and John A. Miller, and one sister, Marion Wilson.
Vic graduated from Elizabethtown College and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War.
He was the borough manager of Mechanicsburg, of Warren, and of Upper Allen Township. From 1971 to 1995, he worked as a consultant for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Upon retiring, he was with the Harrisburg Auto Auction.
He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg.
Vic enjoyed gardening, watching Nascar racing and college football.
His graveside service and interment will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, March 29 at Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, with Rev. Marleen Griffith-Stull officiating. There will be no viewing.
