Urie J. Wengerd, 67, died Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024 at his home near Van Wert.
Born Oct. 28, 1956 in Belleville, he was a son of the late Alvin and Lydia (Peachey) Wengerd.
He is survived by his wife, Esther (Troyer) Wengerd, five children, Allen Wengerd (Sarah Ann), Laura Peachey (Noah), Verna Kurtz (Steven), MaryAnn Esh (Ike), and Mervin Wengerd (Ada), 28 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, Savilla Peachey, nine siblings, Tom Wengerd (Peggy), Dan Wengerd (Katie Ann), Emma Weaver, John Wengerd (Susan), Emmanuel Wengerd (MaryAnn), Lomie Troyer (Raymond), Fannie Kanagy (Amos), Sadie Petersheim (Ben), and Mary Wengerd, and sister-in-law, Lavina Wengerd.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sollie Wengerd, one grandson, Lavern Wengerd, and his brother-in-law, Marty Weaver.
There will a viewing on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 1 to 8 p.m. at The Urie Wengerd residence, 662 Moore Road, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5 at the Rufus Peachey residence, 1712 Zendt Hollow Road, Mifflintown PA 17059. Interment will be in the Old Order Amish Cemetery, Van Wert.
