Theodore S. “Ted” Kepner, 63, of Port Royal, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at his home.
Born Oct. 6, 1962, in Danville, he was a son of the late Glen D. “Skip” and Helen (Amig) Kepner.
He married his high school sweetheart, Rhonda L. Cisney, on Oct. 20, 1984, and they have spent 41 years loving and supporting each other. He is also survived by three siblings, Tim Kepner and wife, Resa, Josh Kepner and wife, Brooke, and Sarah Wriglesworth and husband, Brian, his step-mother, Nancy J. (Kohler) Kepner, his parents-in-law, Ron and Deanna (Swab) Cisney, and many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by some family members whom he was very close to, grandparents, Sara “Mart” Kepner and J. Russell “Kit” and Esther Amig, and great-uncles and great-aunts, J. Lloyd and Mary (Kepner) Ritzman and Evard and Ida (Kepner) Meloy.
Ted graduated from Juniata High School in 1980 and from Electronics Institute in Harrisburg.
He worked for a few years as an electronic technician, but his passion and life’s work was being a minister of the Gospel and teaching God’s word. He spoke at many churches and was involved with many Christian youth groups. Most recently he worked with Joshua Network and was an Apostolic leader in Freedom Ministry.
Along with doing the work of the Kingdom of God, Ted enjoyed flea marketing with his nephew, Asher, woodworking, reading and studying the Bible, cooking, gardening and was a handyman in every category.
His family is planning to hold a Celebration of Life service on May 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at River Church in Mifflintown with Pastor Melvin Fisher officiating. Private interment in Union Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will provide all flowers and asks that you consider sending a contribution in memory of Ted to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 (samaritanspurse.org) or to Project 9:38, a mission of Mifflintown Family Worship and Activity Center, 9553 Mountain Road, Port Royal, PA 17082 (Paypal - @Mifflintownfwc@gmail.com).
