Sonya L. Sheaffer, 57, of Shamokin, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Geisinger-Medical Center, Danville.
She was born April 6, 1964, in Lewistown.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Phillip and Jayne Wirrick of Mifflintown, one son, Charles “Chuck” Custer and wife, Stacey, of Dornsife, three grandchildren, Gabriel, Michael, and Cyris Custer, and three siblings, Shelley Boullianne and husband, Andrew, of Mt. Holly Springs, David Wirrick and wife, Amanda, of East Waterford, and Elizabeth Roush of Lake Meade.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara (Swartz) Wirrick and one son, Michael Adam Custer.
Sonya worked as a teller at Harris Savings Association, Harrisburg, but mainly took care of her family and her home. She enjoyed paper crafting and painting.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, at Cedar Grove Brethren In Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
