Sara “Sue” L. Bell, 80, of Philipsburg, formerly of Mifflintown, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 6, 2023, at her home.
She was born May 19, 1943 in Mifflintown.
She is survived by three children, Cathy L. Peters and husband, Corky, of Philipsburg, Timothy Wilson and wife, Jan, of Chambersburg, and Tammy Wilson of Dubois, five siblings, George Bell and wife, Renee, Donald Bell and wife, Marilyn, Ronald Bell and wife, Melissa, James Bell and wife, Mary Louise, and Sherry Snyder and companion, Lucas, seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond S. “Pat” Bell, her mother, Sara (Carruthers) Bell Salazar, her step-father, Epitacio “Pat” Salazar, one grandson, Roy Foltz, and one brother, Billy Bell.
Sara worked in the Harbison and Walker Refractory Machine Shop, as a flagger and equipment operator for Glenn Hawbaker for 35 years, as a part-time cashier at K-Mart, and drove a school van.
She enjoyed shopping and she loved flower gardening.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to help the family with the final expenses may be made to Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.
