Sandra Lucille “PeeWee’ Robey, 83, of Mifflintown, PA, passed away on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital with her daughter by her side.
She was born July 26, 1938, to the late Robert S. and Hulda (Henderson) Dressler, who lived in Centre.
After graduating in 1956 from Juniata Joint High School, she moved to Bucks County where she lived with her sister, Mim, and was a keypunch operator at Fairless Works. In 1973, Sandy moved with her family to Bloomingdale, Luzerne County. In 1982 she began working in production at Encon, Dallas, PA. In 1985, she moved around the corner to Offset Paperback Books, working first as a packer and then as a quality control inspector, retiring in 2000. A few years later she returned to Juniata County to be near her extended family.
Sandy was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown, volunteered as a cook for Meals On Wheels, enjoyed flea markets, gardening, cooking, canning, crafts, crocheting, puzzles, and decorating her home--especially for Christmas! She looked forward to outings and playing cards, such as Hand and Foot and Skip-Bo, with her sisters and brother-in-law.
Sandy was a loyal friend, and she was always taking care of people, such as an elderly neighbor or relative. She was an awesome mom and the backbone of her family. She stayed at home to raise her children and supported them in many ways, by helping them and attending any activities they were involved in. No matter what she did, she put her family first.
She is survived by two children, Lori Taylor and husband, Harry, and Robert D. Robey, three siblings, Ruth A. Williams, Clara Faye Whistler and husband, Lloyd, and Jackelyn J. Fowler and companion, Barry Detra, many nieces, nephews, and friends, and her cat, Lucy.
She was preceded in death by a stillborn sister, Carol Ann Dressler; siblings: Mildred M. Borowski, Mary C. Walton, Nora E. Stacey, Robert Donald Dressler, and William C. Dressler; and her former husband, Daniel S. Robey.
Her memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at Aldersgate UMC with Pastor Mindy Petrovcic officiating. Per the family's request, a private interment will precede the service in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Although there will be no viewing, the family will receive friends at the church, on Thursday from 1-2 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate UMC, Meals on Wheels, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
