Ruth A. Dressler Williams, 93, of Mifflintown, went to be with her Savior and join her husband in heaven on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Brookline Manor.
She was born Oct. 15, 1928 in Mifflin.
She is survived by four children, Pamala Y. Shellenberger of Mifflintown, Fina P. Williams II and wife, Karen, of Mifflintown, Jody L. Varner and husband, Dean, of McAlisterville, and Joni L. Rowe and husband, Nelson, of Lewistown, two sisters, Clara Faye Whistler and husband, Lloyd, of Mifflintown, and Jackie Fowler of Mifflin, eight grandchildren, Holly Lasdin, Jessica King, Jennifer Fornwalt, Melanie King, Rebecca Brubaker, Katie Hosler, Andrew Rowe, and Alex Rowe, and eighteen great-grandchildren, Keira and Juliana Lasdin, Gavin and Addison King, Cody and Katelyn Fornwalt, Lily and Tessa King, Jacob, Matthew and Jenna Brubaker, Ellie Hosler, Brennan and Aiden Rowe, Lydia and Johnathan Haldeman, Brielle Simonetti and Baby girl Rowe is expected in June.
Her husband of 50 years, Fina P. Williams, whom she married on July 3, 1952, passed away on Dec. 1, 2002. Also preceding her in death were her father, Robert S. Dressler, her mother, Hulda (Henderson) Dressler, her step-mother, Elizabeth Dressler, four sisters, Mildred Borowski, Mary Walton, Nora Stacey, and Sandy Robey, two brothers, Robert Donald Dressler and William C. Dressler, her son-in-law, Tom Shellenberger, one infant sister, one infant grandson, and three infant great-grandchildren.
Although Ruth worked at a local shirt factory for a brief period of time and at Reese’s prior to her marriage, she was mainly a homemaker who loved spending time with her family and spent many years babysitting her grandchildren.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mifflintown.
She enjoyed quilting, canning, playing games and cards with her family, word searches, and feeding and watching the birds.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 17, at First Baptist Church, 23964 Route 35 N, Mifflintown, with Rev. Ronald Shupe officiating. Interment will be in Locust Run Cemetery.
There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown and on Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service.
