Russell A. “Russ” Trego, Jr., 65, of Mifflintown, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
Born Oct. 16, 1955, he was a son of the late Russell A. and Margret E. (McNemar) Trego, Sr.
He is survived by four children, Barbie Trego and companion, Alejo Torres of East Waterford, Russell A. Trego III and companion, Trisha Minium, of Thompsontown, Cassimina (Trego) Willow and husband, Bradley, of Mt. Pleasant Mills, and Cathy (Hockenberry) Shaffer and husband, Joshua, of Mifflin, one sister, Tabitha Orwan of Burnham, two brothers, Robert Trego and wife, Susan, of Liverpool and Larry Dean Trego and wife, Paula, of Port Royal, seven grandchildren, Amanda Trego, Lucas and Shyanne Willow, Elizandro and Briseyda Sanchez, and Jacye and Caleb Shaffer, his former wife, Libby L. (Bowersox) Trego, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patty and Judy Lyn Trego, one brother, Thomas B. Trego, and one nephew, Jorgie Rodriquez.
Before being disabled, Russ worked at Empire Kosher Poultry, Mifflintown as a scale master and then transported poultry for Goods Poultry in Columbia, Pa.
He was a former member of Oriental Sportsmen’s Club.
He enjoyed sprint car races at Port Royal Speedway, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially with his grandkids.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
