Roy Benjamin Clarke, 68, of Mifflintown, went home to be with Our Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021.
He was born Oct. 1, 1953 in Lewistown.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Catherine S. “Cathy” (Hockenbrock) Clarke, whom he married Oct. 2, 1993, her daughter, Jennifer (Maize) Zorn, and husband, Greg, and their two children, Aiden and Audrey, of Williamsville, NY, daughter, Robin Michelle Clarke, brother, Guy M. Clarke and wife, Shirley, and their three children Eric, Aaron and Guy Jr. of York, and brother, Douglas Stewart of New Cumberland.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce (Potter) Stewart, one son, Andrew Lee Clarke, and one brother, Michael Clarke.
He graduated from Chief Logan High School in 1972. He voluntarily joined the U.S. Army in 1972 and served his country proudly for three years.
Roy worked in many jobs throughout his life including Red Ball Movers, Fruehauf, and at Overhead Door where he was the photographer when the trucks were loaded. He also worked as the maintenance man, dishwasher and kitchen help at Stop 35 and Red Zone and was a delivery man for Fox’s Pizza.
He enjoyed refinishing furniture and taking care of his home and lawn during his free time. Roy was an avid Miami Dolphins and Penn State football fan and also a Dale Earnhart Sr. and Dale Jr racing fan.
His funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third Street, Mifflintown, with Rev. Donald Walters officiating. Interment will follow the service in East Salem Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 until the time of the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
