Ronald “Ron” “Camper Man Ron” Chambers, 62, of McAlisterville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at William Penn Healthcare, Lewistown.
Born Nov. 27, 1959, in Camp Hill, he was the son of the late Richard and Grace (Sidwell) Chambers.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Geedey) Chambers, whom he married June 13, 1981, two children, Arjay A. Chambers and significant other, Molly, of Gaines, PA, and Joshua Chambers of Camp Hill, PA, as well as his mother-in-law, Barbara (Pines) Geedey, and two grandchildren, Alexandria Eberts and Braxton Chambers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth E. Geedey.
Ron was a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School, Camp Hill, and was self-employed as an RV camper mechanic with Ron’s RV Repair.
He loved hunting, horseback riding, model trains, and RC cars, as well as piloting small aircraft and tinkering with small objects. He loved his former pet dogs, Rebel, Butch, and Wendy, and enjoyed lottery tickets, casino games, and pull-off tickets. He also loved visiting with various branches of family and friends.
He was a member of the Middle Ridge Gun Club, Union Lodge F&AM, Mifflintown, the Lewistown Moose, the American Legion, and was a social member of the VFW.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown with Vicar Sam Leister officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
Although there will be no viewing, the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday at the funeral home.
