Robert E. “Bobby” “Snakeman” Greenleaf, 86, of Mifflin, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1933 in Coatesville, he was a son of the late Clement and Reba (Whiteman) Greenleaf.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce M. (Tyson) Greenleaf on Sept. 14, 2009, one son, Gerald “Butch” Greenleaf, and one brother, Charlie Greenleaf.
He is survived by his companion, Hilda Strawser Linn of Mifflin, his daughter-in-law, Geneva Greenleaf of Honey Brook, one grandson, David Greenleaf and wife, Kristie, of Honey Brook, one great-grandson, Caleb Greenleaf, one brother, Raymond Greenleaf, and one sister, Erma Keylor.
Bobby was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a carpenter in construction.
He was a member of the NRA, the PA Trapper’s Association, the West Caln Sportsman’s Club, the Juniata Co. Sportsmen’s Association, the Mifflintown American Legion, and the Keystone Reptile Club.
He was an avid hunter of snakes and deer, was a true marksman, and loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler and tinkering in his workshop.
His memorial service will be held at a later time at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, those who desire are asked to make a memorial contribution to either the Keystone Reptile Club, 404 Goodyear Road, Gardners, PA 17324 or the West Caln Sportsmen’s Club, PO Box 58, Wagontown, PA 19376.
