Robert C. “Bob” “Bobby” Varner, 82, of Mifflin passed away Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.
Born Oct. 3, 1943, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Norman and Margaret (McManigle) Varner.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna J. (Marshall) Varner, whom he married Feb. 4, 1967. Also surviving are two children, Randy L. Varner and wife, Jennifer, of Boiling Springs and Susan R. Yohn of Mifflintown, three grandchildren, Mackenzie Yohn, Zachary Varner, and Jacob Varner, one brother, William “Bill” Varner, of McAlisterville, and one sister, Gail Foltz and husband, Don, of Mifflintown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Joey Yohn, and a brother, John, who died at a young age.
His family also included two sisters, Mary and Janie.
Bobby graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1962.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from Nov. 5, 1963 until Nov. 3, 1967.
He was an outdoor salesman for Juniata Lumber and Supply and then for Poole Building Supply.
He enjoyed watching British comedies on TV and loved being with his family.
There will be no public service and burial at St Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Nook, will be at the convenience of the family.
