Richard "Rich" R. Shaffer

     Richard R. “Rich” Shaffer, 72, of Mifflintown, passed away Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021, at William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown.

     Born May 20, 1948, in Woodstown, NJ, he was the son of the late Junior and Charlotte (Dyer) Shaffer.

     He is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. “Dottie” (Lauver) Shaffer, whom he married July 25, 1969, five children, Richard Shaffer and wife, Carrie, William Shaffer and companion, April, Amanda Harlon and husband, Russ, Joshua Shaffer and wife, Cathy, and James Shaffer, nine grandchildren and three sisters.

     Rich worked at Blue Valley Industries, Empire Kosher, and for 20 years was a landscaper with Three Spruce, Dillsburg, before retiring in 2012.

     He was a member of Mexico Full Gospel Mission, enjoyed NASCAR Races, and was an avid Eagles fan.

     A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Febuary 6, 2021 at Mexico Full Gospel Mission with Pastor Charles McKee officiating.
