Richard B. "Dick" Becker, 83, of McAlisterville, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Nov. 17, 1940, in Hellam, York County, he was a son of the late Walter Ernest and Catherine Grace (Landis) Becker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Bonnie R. (Adams) Becker, whom he married on Sept. 14, 1963, three sons, Richard A. “Rick” Becker and wife, Patricia, Jeffrey L. “Jeff” Becker and wife, Jill (Ritzman), and Michael A. “Mike” Becker and wife, Lisa, six grandchildren, Aaron Becker, Rachel Spade, Brandon Becker, Carlee Becker, Ethan Becker, and Cadee Becker, four great-grandchildren, Braelynn Becker, Elizabeth Spade, Madison Becker, Amelia Becker, and another great-grandchild expected soon, three sisters, Ruth Keller, Gloria Meade and husband, Karl, and Marian Grove, and one sister-in-law, Mary Becker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Roger Becker and one sister, Erlene Abel.
Dick worked as the director of global quality at AMP for 34 years, but his most fulfilling job was driving a school van for 20 years for Leroy Stewart and for Bill Gilson.
He was a member of Thompsontown Baptist Church.
He liked horses, going on trail rides and training Buddy, he helped with the 4-H goat club, and he enjoyed being in nature. But the most enjoyment came from being with his family.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, at Thompsontown Baptist Church with a memorial service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Don Henrickson officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
