Rebecca M. “Becky” Boreman, 76, of Mifflin, finished her earthly race on Saturday, July 13, 2024. She was born on September 21, 1947 to the late Harvey and Marion Schlegel. Becky was preceded in death by a brother, Mearl “Huckle” Schlegel, sister, and brother-in-law Myrtle “Suzey” and Jim Varner, a niece, Jodi Schlegel and her dear friend, Vicki Gray.
Becky is survived by her sons, Keith (Abby) and Jay (Dorothy) Boreman; grandchildren Madison (Nick) Shreffler, Gavyn and Connor Boreman, Janessa (Payton) and Harmony Boreman; great-grandchildren, Lenna Shreffler and Edith Woodward; her brother, Charlie (Beryl) Schlegel and her sister-in-law, Sara (Mearl) Schlegel.
She was an excellent cook and loved to prepare food for her family. She liked to bake and read, working on puzzles, as she did so often with her Mom, and she enjoyed watching ice skating and of course, the cooking channel. Becky was sure to always have their favorite snacks ready for her visitors, just in case they needed “a little something”.
When she was able, Becky spent countless hours on her porch, listening to her wind chimes and visiting with her Path Street friends, who she loved as family. Becky was a night owl and in recent years, she was so grateful for late night visitors, who faithfully checked on their Iggi.
Her life’s greatest joy was her boys, and her grandchildren, who she loved and cherished beyond measure. She will certainly live on through the lessons taught and memories made.
The family would like to thank those who provided her care in recent years, including the special group of nurses from 6B at GLH, who were so kind and caring to her and our family. And to her faithful friends, who have shown such love and support to Becky, especially Jeannie, Linda and John.
Becky will be missed, and remembered, always and our comfort comes through the Lord and knowing she is wholly healed and at peace.
There will be no service.
