Paul "Bucky" S. Aughey

     Paul S. “Bucky” Aughey, 97, of Mifflin, passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

     Born May 3, 1923, in Licking Creek Valley, he was a son of the late Samuel C. and Elizabeth (Ehrenzeller) Aughey. His wife, Minerva (Reynolds) Aughey, whom he married in June of 1949, died June 3, 2012.

     He is survived by three children, Sharon Crosman and husband, Mike, of College Park, Md., Rod P. Aughey and wife, Georgean of Mifflintown, and Lisa A. Neff of Port Royal, his twin brother, Lester Aughey, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

     He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Pontius and Mary McGrath.

     Bucky was a foreman with the Pa. State Highway Department. He then was a custodian at Mountain View Elementary School.

     He was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, Union Lodge No. 324 F.& A.M. and Zembo Shrine.

     He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling. He also had a small farm where gardening and taking care of the animals was his hobby.

     His graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery with Vicar Samuel Leister officiating.
