Paul B. Arnold, Sr., 92, of Walnut, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1932 in Doyle’s Mills, he was a son of the late Robert Bruce and Clara Jane (Stong) Arnold.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Gretchen D. (Burdge) Arnold, whom he married July 16, 1954, five children, Paul B. Arnold, Jr. and wife, Reba, Deborah Hostler, Clair E. Arnold, Terri Bailey, and George “Rusty” Arnold, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Larry Hostler and Beetle Bailey, a daughter-in-law, Debra Arnold, six siblings, Sarah Martin, Esther Thompson, Helen Page, James Arnold, Roy Arnold, and Cloyd Arnold and an infant sister, Mary Isabel Arnold.
Paul retired from PennDot where he worked in vehicle maintenance in Juniata County.
He was a member of the Nook Gun Club and the Beale Township Fire Co. and a past committee member of Boy Scout Troop 124.
He enjoyed flea marketing, scratching off lottery tickets, his 4th of July fireworks display and was always helping his family with whatever they needed.
There will be a graveside memorial service and interment at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 29 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Nook, 15275 Rt 35 South, Mifflin PA 17058 with Pastor Allen Hulslander officiating. If you wish to be seated for the service, please bring a chair. There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beale Township Fire Company, 2051 Cider Press Road, Port Royal, PA 17082.
