Patricia J. Garland Lauver, 90, of Mifflintown, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, at Brookline Manor.
Born July 8, 1934 in Granville, Mifflin Co., she was a daughter of the late Samuel Robert and Lina M. (Pierce) Freed.
She is survived by three daughters, D. Leeanne Garland, Tracy Howell and husband, Guy, and Darla Supplee and husband, Glenn, two step-sons, Andrew S. Lauver and wife, Rachael, and John “Chuck” Lauver and wife, Wendy, a person she considered to be her daughter, Janie Marks, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Mahlon D. Garland on Sept. 9, 2001, her second husband, Ralph W. Lauver on July 11, 2012, one brother, Samuel Robert Freed, Jr. an infant sister, and a special nephew, Samuel R. “Bub” Freed III.
Pat sold Tupperware and worked as a clerk/cashier for several area businesses including McCory’s and Weis Markets.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Mifflintown and formerly a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Mifflintown.
She enjoyed working with flowers and other gardening, camping, especially at Chincoteague, traveling, especially to Williamsburg, Va, ceramics, shopping, both in-person and online at QVC, reading the newspaper and magazines, collecting cookbooks, watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, and watching Penn State football.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a future time.
