Pamela McWilliams “Pam” Kennedy, 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at her home in Mifflintown with her family by her side.
Born August 21, 1953 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late James Edmond “Ed” and JoAnn (Saylor) McWilliams.
She is survived by her husband of almost 42 years, Jack Douglas “Doug” Kennedy, whom she married Nov. 27, 1980, one son, Vance D. Kennedy and his significant other, Cassandra Boozel of Mifflin, one daughter, Jill (Kennedy) Fry and husband, Todd, of Honey Grove, one step-son, Steve Kennedy and wife, Shannon, of Jacksonville, Fla, , three grandchildren, Daylyn Kennedy, Banks Fry and Kael Fry, two step-grandchildren, Madison Kennedy and Cameron Kennedy and three siblings, Scott McWiliams and wife, Gail, Melissa Smith and husband, Dan, and J. Douglas McWilliams, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Juniata High School in 1971, from Juniata College in 1975, and obtained her Masters of Education degree with post graduate credits from Shippensburg and Bloomsburg.
Pam taught French and English, first at West Perry High School for five years and then for the Juniata County School District until she retired in 2011. She was most lovingly known as ‘Madame Kennedy’ to her students.
She was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Port Royal Literary Guild, and Delta Kappa Gamma.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, cruising, and spending time at their house in Florida. She dearly loved her family and treasured the time she spent with her family and her friends.
Her memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 31 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 8489 Licking Creek Road, Mifflintown, with the Rev. Richard Adams, officiating.
There will be no viewing, but the family will receive friends following the memorial service.
Interment in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Nook, will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will provide all the flowers and kindly requests that donations in memory of Pam be made to the Juniata County Library, 498 Jefferson Street, Mifflintown, PA 17059.
