Norman B. Thatcher, 82, of East Waterford, passed away Friday, May 1, 2020, at UPMC Pinnacle West Shore, Mechanicsburg.
Born April 9, 1938, in Reeds Gap, he was a son of the late John Clair and Ruth Winifred (Diven) Thatcher.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Anita Y. (Richardson) Thatcher, whom he married June 25, 1960, one daughter, Gloria Ann Thatcher-Miller and spouse, Heidi, of Mechanicsburg, two grandchildren, Jason Kyle Shetron of Mifflintown and Baylor Brooks Thatcher-Miller of Mechanicsburg, one great-grandson, Adam Bradley Chambers and two sisters, Kathy Little and husband, Mike Sr. of Ickesburg and Norma Faye Wright of Dickinson, Texas.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Brenda Lee Shetron and Carolyn Sue Thatcher, three grandchildren, David Adam Shetron, John Clair Thatcher, and Diana Erin Shetron and two brothers, William Thatcher and John C. Thatcher, Jr.
He owned and operated Thatcher’s Plumbing and Heating for 55 years.
He was a member of Union Lodge #324 F.& A.M., Mifflintown.
He was very mechanical and could fix anything.
Norman cherished his family and friends and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
His private service and interment will be in East Waterford Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Conley officiating.
