Norma Walters Parker, 94, of Mifflintown, went to be with the Lord at 2:07 p.m. on Monday, May 3, at the home of her daughter in New Cumberland.
Born March 17, 1927, in Mifflintown, she was the daughter of the late William Blaine and Carrie Mae (Varner) Walters. Her husband, Ralph S. Parker, whom she married Nov. 10, 1973, died Sept. 2, 2012.
A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by one daughter, Linda Matusheski and husband, Vincent, of New Cumberland, one son, Daniel Haubert, of Mifflintown, one stepdaughter, Virginia P. Stimmel and husband, Joseph R., of Harrisburg, one sister, Loma Saner and husband, Donald E., of Mifflintown, two brothers, Clyde Walters of Mifflintown, and Clifford Walters of Reedsville, five grandchildren, Nathan Matusheski, Liza Balough, Olivia Wise, Jason Stimmel, and Elena Germaine, and eight great-grandchildren, Isaac and Ethan Balough, Luke, Riley, and Ella Matusheski, Ophelia Wise, Anna Stimmel and A.J. Germaine.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by seven brothers and five sisters.
Norma was a homemaker who was dedicated to her family. She was blessed with understanding and patience. As an artist, she had a great appreciation of beauty which was reflected in her oil paintings. She enjoyed sewing, needle work, playing golf and loved polka music.
She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Mifflintown, and the Juniata Joint High School Class of 1945.
Her graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 7, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley, Mifflintown, with Pastor Nancy McClure officiating. If you wish to be seated for the service, please bring a chair. Masks will be required.
