Nora Esther (Leonard) Graybill, 98, of Thompsontown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at her home surrounded by her three children.
Born May 8, 1923, in Center, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Foster and Alverta (Keller) Leonard.
She married her late husband, W. Harry Graybill, on Oct. 31, 1943. She was blessed to share 44 years of marriage before he passed on June 30, 1988.
She is survived by her children, Howard Graybill of Thompsontown, Renee Bell and husband, George, of Mifflintown, and David Graybill and wife, Sally, of Staatsburg, NY, four grandchildren, Tami Bell of Mifflin, Kris Arbogast and husband, Joe, of Mifflin, Melissa Montgomery and husband, Anthony, of Poughkeepsie, NY, and Shawn Graybill and companion, Melissa Bishop, of Staatsburg, NY, four great-grandchildren, Olivia Kline and husband, Josh, Shea Montgomery, Wade Bishop, and Savannah Bishop, and one great-great-grandson, Maxwell Kline.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Patricia Graybill, one sister, Geraldine Showalter, and one brother, Merril Leonard, Sr.
Nora was a life-long member of Locust Run United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed exercising and attending functions at the Four Seasons Senior Center, Mifflintown. She loved to play cards, work crossword puzzles, and especially enjoyed reading. After her retirement from the Centre Hall Elementary School cafeteria, she enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Spending time with her family was her greatest pleasure.
Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Don Walters, officiating. Interment will be in Locust Run Cemetery.
There will be a viewing on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.
