Mary Jane (Harris) Leister Kepner

     Mary J. Leister Kepner, 86, of Mifflintown, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.

     She was born Nov. 17, 1936, in Lewistown.

     She is survived by her second husband, David Leon Kepner whom she married June 27, 1991, five children, Steven “Jake” Leister, Teresa Avery, Michael Leister and wife, Jackie, Marc Leister and wife, Greta, and Greg Leister and wife, Glenda, one step-son, Bryan Kepner and wife, Renee, 13 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

     She was preceded in death by her first husband, John “Jake” Leister on April 9, 1987, her parents, Walter Edward and Stella Margarite (Peck) Harris, and one sister, Eleanor Eaton.

     Mary worked at Fisher’s in Milroy and at Lyons Fashion in Mifflintown and McAlisterville.

     She was an avid reader and she and her husband enjoyed traveling.

     Her memorial service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
