Mary G. (Ort) Hackenberger

     Mary G. Hackenberger, 91, of Port Royal, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital ER.

     Born Jan. 16, 1928, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Sarah (Hommel) Ort.

     Her husband, Robert R. Hackenberger, whom she married April 27, 1950, died on Oct. 10, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a son, William E. Hackenberger on Jan. 19, 1996, three brothers, Lawrence, Robert, and William Ort, three sisters, Dorothy Davis, Freda Miller and Jane Hinderliter, one half-sister, Ruth Alison, and one grandson, Adam Hackenberger.

     She is survived by three children, Robert R. Hackenberger and wife, Judy, C. Boyd Hackenberger, and Diane Cameron and husband, Jim, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and one brother, Andrew Ort and wife, Peggy.

     She retired from the Appleton Paper Co. where she had been a clerk analyst.

     She was a member of the Centre Lutheran Church.

     She enjoyed her flowers and sitting on her front porch swing. When her husband was alive, she enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling to Texas for the winter.

     She loved spending time with her family, especially at all the holidays when everyone would gather together.

     Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Centre Lutheran Church, 9259 William Penn Highway, Mifflintown, with Rev. Allen Hulslander officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

     There will be a viewing from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Thursday at the church.
