Marian B. (Bookwalter) Book

     Marian B. Book, 83, of Thompsontown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2024, at her home.

     Born March 5, 1941 on the family farm in Turbett Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Bookwalter and Helen (Sieber) Bookwalter Leach.

     She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leroy W. Book, whom she married Oct. 9, 1962, two children, Brian Book and wife, Carol-Beth, of Bellefonte and Joan Kime and husband, Steve, of Harrisburg, four grandchildren, Cassandra Book, Jessica Book, Andrew Kime and wife, Savannah, and Zachary Kime, one sister, Betty Dolan and husband, Don, of Port Royal and numerous nieces and nephews.

     Marian graduated from Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing and received her Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Nursing from Millersville University. She was a nurse at Lewistown Hospital and also a school nurse for the Juniata Co. School District.

     She was a member of Free Spring Church of the Brethren.

     She enjoyed going to Hershey Bears Hockey Games, meeting with her cousins for breakfast, playing games on her tablet, and caring for her cat. But the most important thing in her life was her family and she especially loved being with her children and grandchildren.

     Her funeral will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will be in Thompsontown Lutheran Cemetery. There will be no public viewing.
