Luella M. Ritzman, 96, of Mifflintown, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born Oct. 9, 1929, in Milroy, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Rearick) Ritter.
She is survived by her husband, John M. Ritzman, whom she married July 22, 1967. Also surviving are one daughter, Susan Matteson and husband, Tom, of Lititz, three grandchildren, Alexander T. Matteson, Kyle T. Matteson and wife, Allyson, and Sarah K. Matteson, and her sister-in-law, Mary Alice Ritter of Mifflintown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Ritter.
Luella was a secretary and was employed by Standard Steel prior to her marriage to John. Shortly thereafter, she became a full time wife and mother.
She was a member of Faith Bible Church, Port Royal.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, adult coloring, knitting, sewing, reading, tending to her flowers, attending her Bible study/prayer group, and canning and freezing the produce her husband grew in their garden. She was a volunteer with Child Evangelism Fellowship for many years and a faithful prayer partner for many.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Faith Bible Church, with Rev. Brent Knepp officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
