Lottie G. Holsinger, 94, of Mifflintown, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, at her home.
Born Feb. 2, 1931, in Shade Valley, Tell Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Robert I. and Mabel P. (Jeffries) Goshorn. Her husband, Kenneth B. Holsinger, died Nov. 8, 2016.
She is survived by one son, David B. Moist of Mifflintown and his fiancé, Sue Walker of Carlisle, one daughter, Janice P. (Moist) Thompson of Middletown, Delaware, two step-daughters, Sandy Holsinger and JoAnn Miller and husband, Ronald, all of Lancaster, two sisters, Guelda Bell and husband, Glenn, of York, and B. Lucille Speece of Robesonia, two step-grandchildren, Jon Miller and wife, Amanda and Christine Cipoletti, two step-great-grandchildren, Zachary and Taylor Miller and her sister-in-law as well as her best friend, Nancy Lebkicher of Mifflintown.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, David George Goshorn, Robert E. Goshorn, Donald E. Goshorn, and Walter Lincoln Goshorn and one son-in-law, Jerry Thompson.
Lottie was an LPN at Harrisburg State Hospital as well as a caregiver for older adults.
She was a member of Free Spring Church of the Brethren and was active in donating crocheted and knitted items to charities through the church.
She volunteered at Abundant Blessings and, at one time, was involved with making quilts there. She helped with the meat canning project and the highway trash pickup. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, and bowling.
She entered many items at the Juniata County Fair and Beavertown Fair and won many blue ribbons. She was proud of the Best of Show award she won for the afghan she knitted and entered in Juniata County.
Lottie read her Bible devotions every day and always looked to God for guidance.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 3 at Free Spring Church of the Brethren with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. The interment at Adams Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
