Larry W. McNemar, Sr, 74, of Mifflintown, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2020, in the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital emergency room.
Born May 13, 1946, in Vandyke, he was a son of the late J. Howard and Geraldine (Newlin) McNemar.
He is survived by his wife, Irma L. (Walter) McNemar, whom he married Dec. 4, 1965, three children, Larry W. McNemar Jr. and wife, Lori, of Mifflintown, Curtis E. McNemar and wife, Billie, of Mifflin, and Roxane L. Pearsall and husband, Adam, of Fayetteville, NC, six siblings, Esther I. Kauffman Schorr of Millmont, Richard H. McNemar Sr. of Pittsburgh, Mary E. Calvert of Mifflintown, Susan T. Peterman of Delaware, Jerome C. McNemar of Mifflintown, and John David McNemar and wife, Karen, of Chambersburg, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret E. Trego and one brother, Donald E. McNemar.
Larry graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1964. He had various jobs, but worked the longest as a dispatcher for Empire Kosher Poultry. He currently owned and operated Yellow Rose Advertising.
He was a member of the Six Pack Hunting Camp and an investment club. He enjoyed hunting, watching westerns, and was an avid sports fan. His family was the most important thing to him and he loved all his relatives and friends.
There will be a public graveside service and interment at 12:00 p.m. noon on Friday, Dec. 4, at Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown, with Vicar Samuel Leister officiating. If you wish to be seated during the service, please bring a chair. There will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
