Kenneth G. “Kenny” McGowan, 57, of Mifflintown, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 13, 2021, at his home.
He was born April 3, 1963 in Lewistown.
He is survived by his companion, Alison Grimm of Mifflintown, one daughter, Constance Walters and husband, Mike, of Mifflin, one grandson, Chase Walters, ten siblings, Anna Beachel and husband, Terry, Harry Rice and wife, Nancy, Ralph Rice, and Patsy Maneval and husband, Elwood, all of Thompsontown, Robert Rice and wife, Eileen, of Millerstown, Bessie Speece and husband, Dwayne, and Helen Smith, all of Mifflintown, Paul Rice and wife, Pamela, of McAlisterville, Jean Bower and husband, Harold, of Camp Hill, and Shirley Hargett and husband, Frank, of Mifflin, as well as other extended family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte M. (Orwan) McGowan, his father, Harvey J. McGowan, and his step-mother, Pat McGowan.
He was a U.S. Veteran, serving in the National Guard.
Kenny worked for Gingrich Concrete for 22 years and was a member of American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown.
He enjoyed fishing and tenting in the summer and was an avid Eagle’s fan. He loved spending time with his family, friends, and his cat, Buddy.
His services will be held on Thursday, March 18, at Stony Run Mission, 2825 Evendale Hill Road, McAlisterville, with Pastor Nick Smith officiating. The viewing will start at noon and the funeral will be at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Wrights Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Millerstown where military honors will be accorded by the Juniata Co. Veterans Council.
