Kathy L. Swailes, 65, of Mifflintown, passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 1, 1955 in Carlisle.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Thomas “Tom” D. Swailes, whom she married Nov. 28, 1975, daughter, Tamra R. Arnold and husband, Matthew, of Mifflintown, twin daughters, Terri L. Popp and husband, Edward, and Traci L. Millan and husband Juan Carlos, all of Thompsontown, her mother, Joyce H. (Leinaweaver) Rapp of Thompsontown, four siblings, Ronald L. Rapp and wife, Heidi, of Mifflintown, Penny L. Baney and husband, Randy, of Thompsontown, Charles R. Rapp Jr. and wife, Vickie, of Port Royal, and Jackie L. Gray and husband, Tim, of Mexico, four grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and many more extended family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles R. Rapp, Sr., and a great-niece.
Kathy graduated from Juniata High School in 1973.
She and her husband, Tom, owned and operated Juniata Exxon Service in Mifflintown for many years and she retired from Capital Blue Cross.
She attended Tuscarora Church of the Brethren and was a member of AmVets Post 122.
She enjoyed camping with her family and going to the beach. She loved her entire family dearly and loved to spend time with them. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandkids.
The date and time of her graveside memorial service at Adams Cemetery with Pastor Joe Yorks officiating will be announced at a future time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to Perry County Animal Rescue, 507 Sugar Run Road, Millerstown, PA 17062 or to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team Happy Feet, in care of Penny Baney, Treas., 137 Pine St., Thompsontown, PA 17094.
