John C. Harris, Jr., 93, of Mifflintown, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023, at Greenwood Village, Lewistown.
Born Aug. 19, 1930 in Milford Township, Juniata Co., he was a son of the late John and Mae (Isenberg) Harris.
He is survived by one daughter, Stephanie H. Peck and husband, Terry, of Port Royal, two grandsons, Eric Peck and Jason Peck, and four great-grandchildren, Kenan, Hannah, Giovanni, and Ilani.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of over 61 years, Eleanor (Conrad) Harris on Oct. 26, 2012, one daughter, Barbara Cobb, one granddaughter, Jennie Cobb, and three sisters, Rebecka Ledger, Virginia Garver, and Anna Catherine Harris.
John graduated from Juniata Joint High School in 1948 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a farmer, but also retired as a machinist from Standard Steel.
He was formerly a Milford Township Supervisor, a trustee and president of the Port Royal Friendship Fire Co, and a 4-H Horse and Pony Club leader. He loved to make wood crafts.
There will be no viewing and the service will be at the convenience of the family.
