Jeanne Neff Bachman, 64, of Millerstown, passed away on Tuesday Oct. 12, 2021, at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital with her family by her side.
Born Jan. 23, 1957, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Melvin L. and Ruth F. (Naylor) Neff.
She is survived by her husband, Read A. Bachman, whom she married Aug. 30, 1990, one daughter, Clare Bachman Sheaffer and husband, Kyle, of Millerstown, three sisters, Darlene Hoffman and husband, David, of Richfield, Donna Lockard and husband, Lee, of Mifflintown, and Sharon Mather and husband, Don, of Millerstown, a sister-in-law, Katharine E. Bachman and wife, Elizabeth Gawron, of Boston, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents-in law, Neal and Helen Bachman, one brother-in-law, Tony Ivanoff, and her little dog, Max.
Jeanne graduated from Juniata High School in 1974.
She worked at various jobs, including secretary at Port Royal Elementary School, crew dispatcher for the railroad, secretary for Blue Shield, and a teacher’s aide at Greenwood Elementary School where she loved working with the kids.
She was a member of Pfoutz Valley United Methodist Church, Liverpool American Legion Post 364, and was a former girl scout leader.
Jeanne enjoyed being around people and helping them in any way she could. She loved her chihuahua, Brownie, and her cats. Her greatest joy was her family, spending time with them, and caring for them. She loved hosting their summer pool picnics and gatherings.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16 at Cedar Grove Brethren In Christ Church, 287 Deerville Road, Mifflintown, with Pastor Nancy McClure officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing.
The family will provide all flowers and respectfully suggests that those who desire make a memorial contribution to the Millerstown Fire Department or the Millerstown Ambulance League, 7 N. Market Street, Millerstown, PA 17062.
