Jean Elizabeth (Ranck) Fowler

     Jean E. Fowler, 85, of Mifflintown, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

     Born Feb. 17, 1937, in Lewistown, she was the only child of the late Wilbur and Charlotte (Bearley) Ranck. Her husband, Fern Melvin Fowler, whom she married in June of 1956, died on Sep. 22, 1989.

     She is survived by five children, Kathy S. Fowler, Sandra A. Ybarra, Fern M. Fowler, Teresa J. Norton, and Kimberly L. Fowler, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

     Jean worked in local sewing factories.

     She was a former member of the Millerstown Moose and the Mifflintown VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

     She loved traveling, especially to the beach, and camping. She was a prolific gardener, knitter, and needlecrafter. She was very social and enjoyed attending local fairs, listening to music, and being with her cats.

     Her graveside service at Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, will be private.

     The details for a Celebration of Life Service to be held in February will be announced when they are complete.
