James R. “Jim” Swartz, 63, of Mifflintown, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, at his home.
Born Nov. 22, 1958, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Edward B. and Margaret (Zeigler) Swartz.
He is survived by seven siblings, Arthur Swartz and wife, Connie, Donald Swartz, Madeline Donaldson, Mary Ranck, Harry Swartz and wife, Faye, Jean Marshall and husband, Richard, and John Swartz and wife, Brenda, his twin sister, Kathy Huss and husband, John, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Edward B. Swartz.
Jim graduated from Juniata High School in 1977 and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
He worked for Pannebaker Cabinets and Treen Pallets.
Jim was a member and Sunday school teacher at Mexico Full Gospel Mission.
He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, and hunting.
His service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, at Mexico Full Gospel Mission, with Rev. Charles McKee officiating. Interment will be in Locust Run Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
There will be a viewing on Monday, May 9, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
