James A. Moyer

    James A. Moyer, 82, of Port Royal, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025 at Brookline Manor, Mifflintown.

     Born Oct. 11, 1943, in Port Royal, he was a son of the late William G. and Lillian (Arnold) Moyer.

     He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Evelyn C. (Kepner) Moyer, whom he married May 15, 1965, two children, Nancy L. Moyer of Port Royal, and Kevin J. Moyer of Granville, two brothers, Glen I. Moyer, formerly of Hampton, Va., and John A. Moyer of Hampton, Va. and several nieces and nephews.

     Jim graduated from Tuscarora Valley High School in 1961.

     After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

     He worked at the American Viscose Corporation until 1972. He then became a furnace repairman for Agway Petroleum and then Suburban Propane, until his retirement.

     He was a member of the Port Royal Methodist Church and a former member of Port Royal Boro Council.

     He enjoyed hunting, watching NASCAR racing, and being with his cat, Scotty.

     There will be a viewing beginning at noon on Friday, Nov. 14 at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S Third St., Mifflintown followed by his funeral at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Crystal Baumgardner officiating. Interment will be in New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
