James Nelson “Jimmy” Hart, 58, of Mifflintown, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born July 3, 1961, in Lewistown.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy F. “Shorty” Hart, his mother, Ruby A. (Kauffman) Kint Hart Shannon, and two half-brothers, Roy Hart and Paul “Bo” Hart.
Surviving are two sisters, Debbie March and husband, Jim, and Sandra McGee and husband, Bobby, one brother, Vernon Kint, one half-sister, Martha Brindley, many nieces and nephews, and a lot of close friends that he considered family including four very special friends, Stu and Traci Miller and Neil and Michelle Knable.
He served in the United States Air Force.
He was an electronic technician for the Post Office.
His memberships included the Mifflintown American Legion, Union Lodge #324 F&AM, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Zembo Shrine, the NRA, and the American Postal Worker’s Union.
He enjoyed hunting, working on cars, and helping other people. He loved his family, his friends and his cats and always made others laugh, often using humor to make them feel comfortable and brighten their day. He was affectionately called “Hot Pants” by some of his nurses and friends.
Following his wishes, his body is being donated to science and his family will have a memorial service at a later time.
Those who desire are asked to give a memorial contribution to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
