Gladys M. Hostler 99, of Mifflintown, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Richfield Senior Living Center.
Born Aug. 8, 1922, in East Waterford, she was a daughter of Jacob Ambrose and Ellie (Williamson) Hampton.
She is survived by one daughter, Janet Schroepfer and husband, Richard, of Lewistown, one daughter-in-law, Deborah Hostler of Mifflintown, three grandchildren, Danny Hostler, Missy McKee and husband, Gordon, and Curtis Schroepfer and wife, Michelle, seven great-grandchildren, Tyler Hostler, Lakata Hostler, Ashton McKee, Montana McKee, Bethany Schroepfer, Kaitlyn Schroepfer, and Nathan Schroepfer, and four great-great-grandchildren, Wylin, Peyton, Aiden, and Oliver.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cloyd B. Hostler on Aug. 20, 1980, one son, Larry B. Hostler, one sister, Alice Hampton, two brothers, Brooks Hampton and Clair Hampton, and her rat terrier pet dog, Penny.
Before she was married, Gladys worked at Letterkenny Depot. Later, she worked at McAlisterville Shirt Factory, Arrow, and at Juniata Garment.
She enjoyed going to the Belleville cattle sales, her flowers, working on the farm and raising her chickens.
Her service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Jim Reagan officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
There will be a viewing from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
