Fred Zook

     Fred Zook, 72, of Mifflintown, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at his home.

     He was born May 22, 1948.

     He is survived by one son, Barry Zook and wife, Mindy, of Mifflintown, one sister, Wendy Swartz and husband, Gary, of Mifflintown, one brother, Norman Zook of Mifflintown, four grandchildren Ned Zook, Jessica Zook, Richelle Diffenderfer and husband, Bradley, and Dakota Zook and wife, Amelia, one great-granddaughter, Cora Diffenderfer and his significant other, Linda Weako of Alexandria, Pa.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Doran F. and Naomi E. ‘Sparkie” (Heister) Zook, Sr., one daughter, Patricia “Patty” Zook, one sister, Susan McClure, and one brother, John Zook.

     He was the retired business owner of Zemco Construction, Mifflintown.

     He was a member of the local Iron Workers Union.

     He loved gardening, attending and watching Nascar races, cooking and vacationing, especially going to the Dominican Republic. His cats were very important to him.

     A graveside service and interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery, with Pastor Chris Mathiason officiating. There will be no viewing.
