Frances K. “Frannie” Burd, 79, of Academia, passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, at Brookline Manor.
She was born Feb. 1, 1942.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Carl W. Burd, whom she married Feb. 27, 1959, one son, James “Jim” Burd, one daughter, Diane Raish and husband, Fred, three grandchildren, Adam Raish and wife, Victoria, Alison Andrus and husband, Paul, Aaron Raish, and eight great-grandchildren Emma, Ella, Elsa, Elka, and Etta Raish, Riley Andrus, and Matthew and Mia Raish.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Alice (Swartz) Kepner and one brother, Donn Kepner.
Frannie was a nurse’s aide at Brookline Manor and then provided care for people in their own homes.
She was a member of Cedar Grove Brethren In Christ Church.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, at Cedar Grove Brethren In Christ Church, with Rev. Ken Hepner officiating. Interment will be in Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
There will be a viewing from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Friday at the church.
