Dorothy Mae (Swartz) Wileman, 98, formerly of Mifflintown, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born April 27, 1922, near Van Wert, she was a daughter of the late J. Domer and Dorothy (Martin) Swartz.
She is survived by five children, Thomas D. “Sonny” Leonard of Thompsontown, Madge E. Fisher and husband, Levi, of Mifflintown, Elsie A. Reigle and husband, Gary of Mifflintown, Linda K. Smith and husband, Ron, of Port Royal, and Ray L. Leonard of Thompsontown; four siblings, Betty Arnold of Mifflintown, Martin Swartz of Delaware, Jerry Swartz of Reading and Connie Zeplin of York, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and seventeen great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Edward Wileman in 1984, five brothers, Frankie, Russell, William, Banks and Chester Swartz, and two sisters, Anna M. Zook and Arlene Barner.
Dorothy Mae was a practical nurse who worked at the Harrisburg State Hospital and then at the Selinsgrove Center.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Juniata County, Mifflintown.
She enjoyed cooking and doing word searches.
Her graveside service and interment in Adams Cemetery, Mifflintown, with Pastor Ronald Shupe officiating will be private.
