Dorothy P. “Dottie” Wilson, 91, formerly of Mifflintown, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020, at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown.
Born March 5, 1929, in Milroy, she was a daughter of the late Dewey A. and Esther H. (Krick) Barger. Her husband, George W. Wilson, Sr. whom she married April 15, 1959, passed away on Nov. 26, 2002.
She is survived by two sons, George Wilson, and wife, Susan Gocke Wilson, of Voorhees, NJ and Walter Dewey Wilson of Elizabethtown, five grandchildren, David Wilson, Kelsey Wilson, Emma Wilson, Amanda (Wilson) Sanchez, and Katie Wilson, and three great-grandchildren, Everett Wilson, Avery Sanchez and Harper Sanchez.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Barger and one sister, Janet (Barger) Teenie.
She worked at McClure’s Fruit Farm and at Ebright Orchard, both near Mifflintown.
She was a member of Mexico Grace United Methodist Church, the Rose Circle Sunday School Class, and she organized the Lenten Tea services at the church for many years.
Dottie was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She liked gardening and looked forward to spring each year when she planted her flowers. She mowed her own grass until she was 89. She enjoyed crafting and loved going to breakfast each morning with her friends.
Her graveside service and interment will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sep. 5 at New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, with Pastor Daniel Kerlin officiating. Those who attend are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
