Dorothy M. Hackenberger, 107, formerly of Mifflintown, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2020, at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.
Born Sept. 2, 1913, in Fayette Township, Juniata Co., she was a daughter of the late B. Franklin and Flora (Rudisill) Miller.
She is survived by four children, Vivian L. Hickman (James) of Waynesboro, Grace H. Booher of Mifflintown, Ruth H. Nace of Millerstown, and James R. Hackenberger (Shirley) of Dover, Pa.; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Russell W. Hackenberger, on Oct. 23, 2007, one grandson, Scott Booher, two brothers, Charles Miller and Robert Miller, one sister, Gladys Guyer, and one infant sister, Mary.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and collecting stamps.
She was the oldest member of Centre Lutheran Church.
Her graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, at Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Sigler officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
