Doris "Dot" B. (Bowen) Hoverter

     Doris B. “Dot” Hoverter, 90, of Mifflin, formerly of Thompsontown and Lewistown, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin.

     Born March 20, 1933 in Turbett Township, Juniata Co., she was a daughter of the late Edward J. and Viola (Reed) Bowen and was preceded in death by six brothers, Paul, Don, Bobby, John, Jimmy, and Tommy and three sisters, Loretta Miller, Linda Burris, and Victoria Bowen.

     She is survived by one sister, Nancy J. Foose of Tuscarora and many nieces and nephews and their families.

     Dot worked at the Hershey factory and was a member of the Tuscarora Church of the Brethren.

     She enjoyed reading, coloring, paint by number and seek and find puzzles.

     Her graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 15 at New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal, with Pastor Mike Neimond officiating. If you wish to be seated for the service at the cemetery, please bring a chair.
